Effective Strategies for Winning at Tongits Go
| Strategy | Description | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Discard High-Point Cards First | If high-value cards like 10, Jack, Queen, or King in your hand are not useful for any meld, discard them quickly — this keeps your total hand points low. | Beginner |
| Watch Your Opponents' Discards | Track which cards other players are discarding. This gives you an idea of what sets they are building and helps you adjust your own strategy. | Intermediate |
| Declare Secreto at the Right Time | If you have very few points in your hand and you think others may be close to declaring Tongits — declare Secreto then and win with the minimum points. | Experienced |
| Build Sets and Runs at the Same Time | Rather than focusing on just one type of meld, try to build both sets and runs simultaneously — this widens your range of opportunities. | For Everyone |
| Read the Draw Situation | When the deck runs out, a draw is declared — at that point, holding low points is essential. So stay cautious in the final stages of the game and avoid drawing risky cards. | Experienced |
